No I hadn’t. I looked for that too and a couple people suggested it but no evidence. It’s said that trans splashes way more on right side, where filter intake is located, then on left and that’s way it’s suggested on that side. It’s just taking small percentage through gravity. I can’t see a problem.
Everyone says run the 4500 1 qt high to help eliminate starving.
Yeah my only concern would be in the dead of winter that thick fluid not getting back through the filter fast enough until it got some heat in it. Probably be fine though.

Again it’s a passive system, here are pics. It doesn’t need to have fluid passing through. If it didn’t pass through it would act exactly like it did with the pto cover back like stock. All the fluid doesn’t run through there, just what the opening “catches” then it flows through the filter back in. If that cavity were to fill up it wouldn’t catch any more and simply fall back into the trans like normal. It’s a simple system, people are overthinking it. Thinking it’s a conventional filter that can clog up and restrict flow, that is NOT possible.
Truthfully I doubt it flows till gets warmed up but that doesn’t matter, it can’t effect lubrication to the trans in any way

Been busy as s*** on the pickup the last few days. Decided on the Bilstein 5100’s spent so much time online making sure that’s what I want and they will work on the truck. There’s just nothing else to look into. I’d bought a different set but thankfully they didn’t have one so I canceled order. Took awhile to find a full set of Bilseins, last two finally showed up.
Shocks I pulled off were s***

Also got my new front springs in, fronts were compressed 1.5”. All new I-bolts, bushings, bolts and shackles. New springs are lifted 1.5” over stock to level the truck. It’s now 3” over the worn out mess it was.

Pulled the trigger on a set of Warn Premium locker hubs. They are so much better then the stock Warns. No plastic and full turn for more positive lock. To be fair though the stockers were working.

It’s now ready for the front end body parts to be assembled before anything else up there so it needs to start with the doors and work forward for fender alignment. Back doors went without a hitch but after spending a ton of time trying to adjust the new aftermarket front doors I said f*** that and went backwards a bit using the best of the doors I had laying around. There’s no rust but both are beat to s***.
Was trying to get out of bodywork but I guess I know a guy lol.
Getting old Dodge gaps decent isn’t fun but I’ll get them ok.

Got a bit yet getting them lined up, then start getting core support, fenders and inners in. Then comes the rest of everything under the hood that isn’t finished.

Ran the rest of the brake lines and got them in buttoned up finally. So controls are all there, steering, throttle, brakes and clutch all done.
Also spent a little time bouncing a few things off of @snuffnwhisky, he’s a great suspension guy so I appreciate his thoughts.

Found a cracked throttle linkage today, something that may only take a min and a zip tie on the road to get home but not chancing stupid crap. If the original plastic lasted 30 years then this should be good lol.

Starting to get things laid out. Needed to get core support in to check the intercooler lines.
Now that’s a radiator!
