P1000 Dash display (e.g, speedo) LED light out

For the past year and a half, the light (LED, I assume) that illuminates the dash display (e.g., speedo, RPM, idiots lights) has had a mind of it's own. Sometimes it's on, sometimes it's not.

Sometime in the past few weeks, it's pretty much stopped working altogether.

Do I have to replace the entire display to remedy?

Can't see it at night, especially when I'm limping home watching the temp and worrying about the machine overheating because I failed to clean the radiator from the ride the day before ... LOL.

I would take it apart and clean up the connectors.
Sounds like its just losing connection to the light circuit.
