The light on my display went out several months ago and it’s time to fix it. I found on a FB group someone desoldered and replaced the led. Anyone attempted this? Here’s a few pics from the FB post for reference.

If its not in the search then Im gonna say no. Not sure what FB is🤔 But I know what FT is 🤣

So are you doing this? Or are you afraid and dont trust the FT guy’s instructions/attemt and asking us to build that confidence for you?
If its the ladder, I say go for it and post pics of your result and a how too to add to our search for others! ;)

BTW, somethings wrong with his back light. Its too blue for his style dash.

Actually Yes,
I actually have a commissioned job to install a red one here soon. If it ever comes in for a 2023 crew.
The other one I did was with a RGB strip with external wires.
Not a hard job, hardest part is getting it apart. Not sure its worth the time/trouble vs ROI I need for doing it as a commission job tho... IDK..
Overall its easy, If your not afraid to solder.

@smoothie25 ☝️ ☝️ ☝️ Theres your answer! Still weird about that color change tho with that now “older display” looks better than the correct one

Mine has been out for a few months.

My issue isn't with soldering on a PCB (been doing that since 1985 when I worked for a company that built a audio/video processing systems - by hand), it's how to access and remove the damn PCB to make the repair.

In the meantime, I made a small L-shaped bracket that I bolted to the top of the steering column (replaced the OEM bolt for the paddle shifter cover with a longer bolt) and literally mounted a small, 2 LED rock light on it, and angled it towards the speedo. This is just a temporary fix until I can get to the PCB to replace the LED, but - hey - it works.
