I got my order in yesterday and got them installed. Ordered the EcoXGear soundbar and some PRP bags from Taylor Motorsports and Outdoors... a small shop with great customer service.
I was leery about the sound bar, having never seen one in person. My brother has a SwampDonkey roof setup in his Pioneer, but I wanted something small, self contained, that didn't break the bank. We all know that our Talons don't have a ton of storage, so the PRP Truss, Center and Roof Bags fit the bill.
The Soundbar was very easy to install, I put it on my rear cage bar. I have the SuperATV tinted rear window, and it fit perfectly, centered on the cage bar. I'm 6'3 and even with my helmet on, I don't hit the soundbar.
The sound is amazing for it's size. It is "rated" at 500w peak power, and I can say, streaming Pandora, this soundbar will hit max volume with no detectible distortion. What it's true RMS power rating is, I have no idea. But, it's plenty loud to hear even with my helmet on. Granted, I have not had it play at a WOT pass, but that will come soon. The LED lights are pretty cool, my only gripe is when you turn them on, you have to cycle through the color options to get to the one you want... I like the blue color, for it matches with my blue Talon. I wish it remembered the last setting, so I don't have to cycle through it each time I turn it off and back on. I wish it would just say on the blue color, but that is a mild annoyance. There are six settings on the LED speaker lights... Green, Red, White, Blue, Party (flashing) and Party (Pulsing). There is a single row of LEDs on the back of the unit... Red, Amber, White (bright), White (medium) and White (dim).
The red can be seen, even through my smoked rear window. The Amber and White settings light up the cargo space nicely, good for mixing a beverage at night. Nice touch! The Soundbar is rated at IP66 so, it will withstand rain, splashing and even light spray cleaning. I have mine directly connected to the battery at the moment, but will add a toggle switch to cut power. For now, I just unplug the power pigtail, and use the rubber cap to keep it from touching the "hot" pin to a grounded surface. This is a very nice touch that EcoXGear did on their wiring harness.
The unit comes with a remote, that even has a nice rubber backing to keep the remote connected. You can turn the volume up and down, change tracks (forward and back), control the speaker lights and led light strip, but you can't pause your music from the remote. There is a USB connection on the unit, as well as AUX in and AUX out. The bars can connect with other EcoXGear soundbars as well, but I have not tried this yet, for I don't know anyone else who has this soundbar.
In the end, I am very pleased with it. I hear that EcoXGear is coming out with a Sub that you can link to this bar, should release this summer. I will definitely get that when it's available.
The PRP bags are awesome. They fit the Talon well, and the velcro that comes on them is NO JOKE. This stuff is awesome and I have no worries about the bags coming loose.
Very happy with these new additions.
