I'm in a dual battery situation. Can I wire the winch to the backup battery, and wire the winch rocker switch to the "keyed on" power via the primary battery? I want to avoid the LED in the rocker switch running the battery down over time. Thanks.

What I did was setup a fuse block on the second battery that is activated by a 60amp key on relay. My winch dash switch is on this fuse block. The winch remote connection I left direct to the second battery.

Yes, This is recommended.
Winch, both + and - primary wires to the second battery.
The small red wire is hooked to a key-on source for safety reasons.
