Hi, I just received my Elka stage 1 shocks for the front of my P5. Wanted to try the fronts first as they are a lot of money for me. I don’t have the manual for my bike and was wonder what the Torque spec would be for my shocks? Thanks

Oooooh.... NICE! Congratulations....That will help for sure. Been exceptionally pleased with my Elka stage 3s front and rear, combined with Kenda Bearclaw radials totally changed my P5. Makes me laugh and smile every time I fire it up, smooth controlled pillowy ride (6-8psi tire pressure front/rear tires). Never even adjusted dampening on my shocks just set the ride height an titch. Let us know the results. For bolts hand tight, but not knuckle busting wrench bending over tight. Probably could google it... my guess is 35 lbs/ft for fronts and 45 lbs/ft for the rear. I’ll chase down my shop manual and post up for you... cheers.

Geeesh... can’t seem to locate where I’ve placed the P5 bible.... when it does turn up I’ll post up torque values apologies. Once “she” my ever lovin’ gets home it’ll magically appear... sigh..
I guess the positive is.... I’ve set it in some weird place and not needed it.. hahahaha

Thanks all. I read somewhere that 14mm were 34ft/lbs. I will try that. Can’t wait to try these. Not to bad at slower speeds but she bucks pretty hard when the pace picks up and I have 26 inch radials & 6 psi. I love the P5 and if I can smooth out the ride some, she will be a keeper.

So the stage 1’s were a big improvement from stock? I’ve been looking at shocks for Trifecta but haven’t settled on what I want yet.

I just finished putting these shocks on and took it across the road to test. I was only out there for ten minutes but WOW!!! I will be ordering shocks for the rear but even with just the fronts, it’s so much softer. The bucking is gone . It’s weird when you hit a bump and your not clinching up before. If your sitting on the fence about this big purchase. I can honestly say it’s worth every penny. I should have bought these the day I bought the P5.

Look into 814's, they are about as economical as you can get and still have a great ride.

One of these days I'll order the rears too, just not too high on the priority list yet.

Did the shocks make a difference with travel height: lifted / lowered / no difference?

Jevin, I would love to get some more feedback from you and other that have had these for a while. I was looking at Polaris models last night (don’t egg my house!!) as I do love my P5, but the ride is just atrocious. Elka stage 1 seems pretty reasonable, rebound adj would be nice but it’s 150 bucks more. If the stage 1 is dialed in good I’d be happy with not slowing to 5mph to not pogo thru a series of potholes.
