Info on deleting the ESP warning light when installing an aftermarket ESP system in your Honda Talon.
When you install an aftermarket Power Steering kit in your Honda Talon, you are left with the yellow PS warning light. To solve this, we need to send a ground signal to the EPS/ECU.
Locate the EPS/ECU under the seat. Pull it off the mount brackets and flip it over. We are looking at the big gray connector as shown, we will locat the yellow wire with a green stripe.
Now, all you need to do is to cut or tap this wire and provide it a ground.
Several places to ground. You can ground it anywhere really.
You may see that the primary frame ground is right there.
HOWEVER, we DO NOT recommend ground there because this is not a critical item.
Leave the factory grounds tight and good.
OUR RECOMMENDATION.
We recommend grounding to the silver bolt that is holding the plastic down. Now, normally, you don't want to use a plastic base as plastic doesn't ground.... But here we have found the bolt provides enough ground has shown to be sufficient.
We offer a wire kit for $10, but you can complete this on your own by cutting the wire or installing a tap.
Our kit includes a short wire, a posi-tap, and a Solder Seal if you wish to extend or cut the wire.
