Help me decide. Ordered Msa m20 wheels and can’t decide between Blackwater evos or terrabites. I have spent hours reading reviews. I like that the terrabites are a better road tire that has high mileage but not sure if it aggressive enough. I plan on a combination of street trail a little mud and come winter will be using them to plow. I haven’t seen much about the terrabites in the snow and evos are proven in the snow. Both tires are same cost and close on weight. Any advice is appreciated

I’m super happy with the Terrabites. I can’t comment on the snow performance but they work great everywhere else.

They’ll climb a wall!

Look into the Carnivores as well. They are in between the two mentioned. This is two 32” sizes next to each other.

I’ve plowed with the Terrabites and they are capable! They could handle clearing 24” of snow without getting stuck. Never had the Evos so couldn’t comment there! I will say that the Factory Bighorns are a better tire in the snow than the Terrabites, but when the snow melts the Bighorns come off and their Terrabites get put back on!

Both are good... do you want more aggressive bite or better all around tire?
That’s the question I’m struggling with ‍♂️ I want more bite but my wife drives it on the road almost everyday. Leaning towards the terrabites bc of her but want the Blackwaters for me. Anyone have any other tires in between the two? Or am I just overthinking it?

Where are you in Ohio?
Did you get street plates on your machine yet? I can help walk you thru the process if you want.

I live in Granville. No I haven’t but the thought definitely crossed my mind. I’m not sure if we can ride them in licking county on the road. What all do I need to do to be compliant? If I were going that route I assume I need to stick with the terrabites since they are dot rated

This is what I wrote on a fb group.
You did not need DOT compliant tires when I went thru the process.

Ladies & Gents, for those interested in obtaining car plates for their pioneer, hit up google and fill out form DPS1373. Install and verify you have the proper equipment installed
Brakes (factory installed)
Brake Lights (factory installed)
Headlights (factory installed)
Tail lights (factory installed)
tires (factory installed)
steering mechanism (factory installed)

Basically you are responsible for the following
windshield
rearview mirror (either outboard rear facing, or interior rearview mirror, err on the side of caution and try to install all 3)
Warning devices/reflectors (turn signals)

If you guys want a list of parts I used and pictures of them installed, I can try to snap some pictures.

Final step is find a police department willing to complete the inspection. You will probably have better luck in rural departments, officers that are accustomed to seeing these on the street with OHV plates.Should be as easy as a phone call to your local dispatch and ask for a vehicle inspection. I would not specify what type of vehicle unless they really want to know. Tell them it is a mini truck. Basically an inspection for a body code change.

If you do not have the title for your vehicle, you will need to request the lien holder send it to your local title office. This is a long process. Honda sent mine 3 times before the office accepted it and knew what I wanted to do. Your title office will probably just look at the inspection report. If you happen to fake it, I doubt anyone will be the wiser.

Carnivores are quite a bit more money but look a little motor aggressive. If you’ve ran both which do you prefer

We bought the 28’s first for our 3 seater then sold them for the 30’s with in a couple hundred miles. The 28’s are 27” y’all and the 30’s are 29”
I was planning on the HL 2.5 lift. Wonder if I could clear them with just that or if I have to do arms too. Didn’t really want to spend the extra $ on that right now

All you need for the 30 inch Terrabites is forward a arms.

We took the 2 inch spacer lift and cut them in half just to have a little more ground clearance and added SATV arms but other than that this vehicle is all stock.

Youll like the terrabites. They have really surprised the hell out of me. Handle everything on the trail but the thickest mud and smooth as hell on the road.
They will pack with mud on occasion but even then they still pull. Mine made it through here on 2nd attempt with lil more skinny pedal.

which would be better terrabites or Light truck mud tires? Last longer?

Well, the truck tires will last longer.. but which is “better” is subjective. You’re going to get a rougher off road ride with truck tires.
