P1000 Fan quit working

I was riding tonight and the temperature light came on. I noticed the fan is not working. 2017 LE. Fuse is good. All plugs seem to be good. Any suggestions? Fan motor shot? Anyone have this happen?

Shut off key, restart.
Known issue on 17+. Honda has an ecm update thru your dealer. You may need to pester them for it.

Same thing happened to me a couple months back. Called the dealer and asked about the ecm update and they were happy to do it. Hasn't happened since.

Flip a switch and the fan comes on versus ECU making the decision.

Mine overheated with 16 miles on it. Called dealer and they did the update and fan has worked as it should ever since. Almost 170 miles now with no issue.

I have an LED indicator light I'll be mounting soon that will give a visual indication when the fan is running.

I can tell you for one the ECM fix is not the cure all. I had mine done when I bought it new a couple of months ago. Just yesterday I had my rig heat up on me when we were just going around the 2.5 mile loop. We had little bike/walk athon for a local cancer kid and I was lucky enough to take him on a ride with all his friends. We were just putting around the loop having fun, checking bikes, and just having a good time. When we got back to the start I looked down and saw the temp light on. I turned it off and let it sit for a couple of seconds, then turned it straight on without pausing. The fan came on like it should and it cooled down fairly quickly. This was the first time this has happened but needless to say the ECM bypass is in my cart right now. Hope they get something fixed but for now I'm not taking any chances.

Yes switch on dash, I believe it is plug and play with 2 connections to your battery?
@Hondasxs will chime in with how it is done.
