The Pioneer 1000 is becoming known for having a faulty FI connector connection. If you contact Honda in regards their solution is to replace the entire wire harness which will take several weeks to complete.

We have an easy fix that will take no more than an hour with a "soda" break.

Honda Pioneer fuel injector wire repair kit!

Below are the instructions for repair.

Locate the broken wire. Sometimes it will be like shown, others it will pull out with little pressure.

Remove the seat back and the cover for best access. You could do it from the rear but its difficult. Another option is to remove the air box.

Cut the defective connector off and strip back the wire tubing.
I cut off 2 inches on the OEM wires.
Strip the wires ends about 1/4 of an inch.

Install the large shrink tube over the OEM wires like shown.

**********************
NOTE:
We include butt connectors. BUT we highly recommend soldering the wire if you are able. This provides the best and most solid connection. The included shrink tube will work great to protect the soldered connection
**********************

Now its time to crimp the wires. Its important you get a solid connection. We included 1 extra crimp in case your pull test fails.

GETTING THE RIGHT CRIMP.
Its important to get a good crimp. We recommend having 2 crimps on each connector. Crimp each off to the side so you leave room for a second crimp. If your first crimp is in the middle it may not work correctly as it will slip into the same location.

If not already, push back the loom to make room to work like shown. We cut our wires down to 4 inches and left the loom full length. Strip backs the wires on the repair kit 1/4 of an inch.

Next, Twist the wires ends and insert into the butt connectors. it should only go 1/2 way on one side.

Now, apply a great crimp. Do one at a time and perform a pull test to ensure properly crimped.

Install the smaller shrink tube as shown.

Now the final main step.
Crimping the repair kit to the OEM harness. Again, do 1 at a time and ensure to do a pull test on each.
Insert the OEM wires into the butt connector. Crimp good and tight, recommend 2 crimps close to the end. Be very careful not to slip and cut the wires.

Push the shrink tube over the butt connectors. Use a heat gun to shrink, A lighter or torch will work but be careful not to burn the wires. The tube has glue that will seal the connections.

Finally, push the wire loom down and over the OEM wire casing. Now use the larger shrink tube and complete the job.

Zip tie the repaired wires to the other wires to prevent rubbing.

Install the connector and test start the unit.

I think I have that issue. Just confused that the wire on one cylinder would kill the engine like the key is turned off. I'm guessing the computer works in funny ways. Would the computer be messing with my mind. Whats your opinion?

Idk
But it can and for some it doesn't.

Let it idle and move the wires around to see if pattern changes.

One of the injectors will let it idle on 1 cylinder for a but till it throws a code. The other cylinder shuts it off immediately.

Seems to be involved with the way the MAP sensor times the injector pulses.

Well I changed both injector plugs but I'm not sure. I cut them right at the plug and all the wires looked good.
I was thinking I would've seen thin stretch out wires but no. The ones from hondaSXS are heavier gauge then the OEM. Well time will tell???
