I do like the independent's. I was glad to see Salinas win TF, although you could hardly call Alan Johnson an independent.

Yes that is,especially just for one cylinder. That is one of the ways to make over 10,000 horsepower. I don't see how they keep that much fuel burning. With two magneto's and 16 plugs I guess it gets done most of the time. I know your Toyota gets poorer mileage than the Chevy but I don't think it burns that much fuel!

Thank the good Lord above! With that much fuel going into the cylinders all it would take to hydro lock an engine is one misfire! Are these engines push rods? I don't know poop about this!

Yes they are based on a Chrysler 426 Hemi design. They have reduced the 1/4 mile down to 1000 feet and reduced the fuel pump volume but they still have big time explosions. They go from 0-100 in less than a second. You need to put a National Event on your plans. They are louder than you can imagine. They just finished up a 4 wide racing event in Las Vegas. I have never been to a 4 wide but 40,000 horsepower at once has to be incredible.

Never seen nitro cars in action but did see a top fuel bike at Atlanta. Larry Spiderman McBride went 5.86. One of the first ever sub 6second runs. Awesome machinery

Said they burn up the plugs before half track and diesel rest of way.....wrong!. Said they only turn around 1100 rpms or so. They leave around 2500 so thats obviously bs lol. I think they turn 8-8500 rpm depending on the amount of clutch slippage. Yeah if they dieseled going down the track that would negate dropping cylinders in my book. Yea the internet is wrong a lot of times, but younger people who were raised on it eat up every word of it!

It was very humid but altitude was 10 feet above sea level. Said they increased boost and compression ratio to compensate for humidity. The track temperature had gotten down to the 80's after the sun set.

For those that haven’t witnessed nitro cars in person, put it on your bucket list. The shock wave you feel from the cars is just indescribable. It’s a must do.

I started out at the Cajun Nationals years ago in Louisiana then started going to the Mid South Nationals in Memphis till Memphis sold out. Definitely a bucket list item.

Between working at the Ford dealer and opening my own shop I hot shot/ hauled stuff for 3 years. I was fortunate enough to go through Ocala and visit it. Mr. Gartlits was actually there working on something in the shop. He was very nice and has an excellent collection/selection of cars.

Never been to a NHRA race. Did go with a buddy to birmingham and had Steve Johnsons mechanic tune his cbr1000rr. I was star struck as hell wandering around his shop lol. Like a little kid.

I guess you are smiling after Hight beat Hagan yesterday. Congrats on the win, my driver red lit against Antron with an -.065. Guess she was trying to take a shot at him. I liked the chrome Pennzoil look on the TF and FC.

Nah i like Matt. Was nice to see him figuring things out. Wanted Wilkerson to do better. I do cheer for Hight but he has his program together. Im cheering more for the guys struggling. Still havent seen prostock race.

Pro stock did not run at Houston. Mountain Motor Pro Stock did.
