I have been searching around the interwebs and forums for a while trying to find this information. I have been unsuccessful. Does anyone know the specifications of the QS3 fox shocks of the 1000-3 VS 1000-5? Length, spring rate, eye size, travel, ect....

Are the shocks the same just with different coils?

Didnt the last thread u did on this get your answer?
you can use the 3’s just the spring poundage is a touch lighter cuz a P3 is a slightly lighter machine. Either way, its a preference depending on what loads your running and type of riding. Recommend a spring upgrade at some point wether u have the P1K5’s or the P3’s

@Cuoutdoors was able to find the spring ID on his 1000-3 LE with Fox shocks
Front = 12.5" length, 2.50 diameter, 225#
Rear = 15.25" length, 3.0 diameter, progressive 171/300#

1000-5 fox shocks (for reference)
Front = 14.5" length 2.5 diameter, progressive 252/350#
Rear = 15.5" Length 3.0 diameter, progressive 187/350#

I think I finally found info on the fox shock 1000 3 VS 5. Thank you guys for posting it. I am copying it here so I don't lose it.

These measurements are for the coils. The shocks themselves are the same for either machine. In theory you could adjust the preload to get the correct height on either spring set. Depending on your rigs weight would ultimately determine the ride quality based on spring rate.

For Example:

If you had a 1000-5 bone stock and typically ride with 1 passenger and riders and equipment are very light you could probably get away with 1000-3 fox shocks.

If you had a 1000-5 packed heavy with 5 250lb people and a bunch of equipment and tried running 1000-3 fox shocks then you might compress the coils and lose tons of ground clearance and have a terrible ride quality.

If you ride a 1000-3 stock with no passengers or equipment then the 1000-5 fox shocks might be stiff for you.

If you ride a 1000-3 with some heavy riders and all your equipment you may ever need then 1000-5 fox shocks might work well for you.

Any of the above scenarios are solved by changing spring rates.

I was able to get info on the 1000-5 stock fox spring spec in my previous thread. I was trying to find the 1000-3 stock fox spring spec and I think I finally found it.

I have a P1K5 but the shocks I purchased are fox takeoffs for a 1000-3.
