I got my new shocks today. They are pristine and I don't think I would have second guessed them if someone said they were brand new. I will upload some photos of them. They were very well packaged. Three were in a sealed bag and 1 was in an opened bag. The pictures I will upload is of the one that was open. That way I don't bore you with a bunch of photos. The one that was opened looked like it had some tooling marks on the tensioner nut, and some dust around the base of the coil. The other 3 are flawless.

Thank you! I am really excited to get them installed. I am waiting on some responses from different websites to hear their recommendations on spring rate. I want to put single rate coils on them. I plan on trying to get the pioneer into town at some point and weigh the thing on a scale. I am currently leaning towards 250 in the front and 300 in the rear. My last additions should be some wild boar bumpers.

For those of you with a 1000-3, I found the Fox spring specs again in @GlockMeister's thread, posted by @Ragnar406. Adding it here (along with the 1000-5 specs again) for reference:

These measurements are for the coils. The shocks themselves are the same for either machine. In theory you could adjust the preload to get the correct height on either spring set. Depending on your rigs weight would ultimately determine the ride quality based on spring rate.

@Cuoutdoors was able to find the spring ID on his 1000-3 LE with Fox shocks
Front = 12.5" length, 2.50 diameter, 225#
Rear = 15.25" length, 3.0 diameter, progressive 171/300#

1000-5 fox shocks (for reference)
Front = 14.5" length 2.5 diameter, progressive 252/350#
Rear = 15.5" Length 3.0 diameter, progressive 187/350#

I think I finally found info on the fox shock 1000 3 VS 5. Thank you guys for posting it. I am copying it here so I don't lose it.

I meant to ask - how does one run 1000-3 front shocks on a 1000-5 when they're 2 inches shorter?
From the research I have done so far the shock is the same, the coil is different. The coil is 2" shorter and a single rate 225lb on the front 1000-3 fox shocks. You can adjust the preload to make up for the coil length or just purchase a different coil.

I just purchased a set from him as well. After 6 months of waiting, I went with a set of fronts for the 3 seater and he had a silver set from the 5 seater for the rear. He did all four for $1200. Once I order the new springs, the colour difference won’t matter if I can match them. Worst case I’ll paint the new ones.

I recieved a private message from another member on here that they were able to get some fox shocks as well. So I think we have 3 members (myself included) on here who got a sweet deal.

I received the new coils for my shocks today. I am looking forward to getting everything installed. The color is very close to the original fox shocks. If I am being picky I would deduct some rating for the fact that they were in a cardboard box with a single piece of brown paper seperating each coil. The powder coating got a little dinged up in shipment. The fonts are labeled Viper with their respected part number and the rear has no label other than 300 written on top with a white sharpie.

You gonna use the ratchet strap method to change them out? Worked good for me

I work as a GM mechanic and I am hoping they will fit on our strut compressor. I haven't tried yet but I worry the claws are too large for these small coils.

Otherwise I do plan on using ratchet straps if needed.
