That sounds like a challenge! I don't think you HMW can be bent as far as aluminum can but it still might be worth looking into.

I don't think it would look as pretty as the one pictured above but no doubt I could even put a flat piece which would be better than nothing at all.

I will order some quarter inch thick material and try that.

Well might want to coinsider even a flat piece over the outside. I think the design of the reinforcement squares on the underside are channeling sticks in. I just had an instance this weekend like I've seen with others

I think so, that thought is based on that I have already cracked my trail armor skid plate and I have pushed it in in a couple places. It's not permanently damaged where it was pushed in though.

That's right, I remember you had told me that. Good call. 1700-1900 lbs probably would overwhelm 3/8.

Interesting. I doubt this stuff is irradiated any for cross-linking for strength? Maybe it was a flaw in heating to strengthen the UHMW poly - if they even do that. Very cool process on the joint implant side for wear reduction and reduction in free radicals.

I haven't tried, but I would imagine it wouldn't be too hard. I used a standard 1 inch drill bit to put some holes in the skid plate for my P700, it was also half-inch thick. That was very simple to drill.

The fact that it's self lubricating (so to speak) should make it easy to drill with a hole saw.

The real decision is whether to get a full skid set or a-arm guards, StrongMade lift, and 28" 8ply tires (EVO's or HTR's)..... One would be pure functional, and the other functional and would make it look better.... Either way it's $750-$950.

Me personally, I'd protect that sucker first. If you don't, you might end up with a cracked engine case. But it would look good sitting in your garage with those nice tires lol. Just my .02.

Yes, yes. This is also my thought.
Who knows, I may do it all at once. It would give me a reason to post to my build thread that presently consists of a light bar and a rear view mirror lol.

Don't worry, it'll be over 10 pages long in no time. It's a lot f money to throw down, but it only hurts for a little while. I stopped saving my receipts right around the 3 grand mark. And that was some time ago lmao.

We use an abundance of UHMW here at work. It's easy to drill and form. The crack in the pic happened because of the bolt hole. We use it in our Mega Shredder on multiple conveyors and it takes a hell of a beating.
