A lot of the time I smell gas when driving over bumps or chuck holes. Any idea what is causing it?

Welcome to the forum there is a lot of good information and people on here.

The gas odor is likely coming from the gas tank vent tube it sits in the frame under the passengers seat. If you haven't relocated it up higher it can suck water into the gas tank in the occurrence of drowning the passenger side in water up to the seat. Most extend the line and run it up to head rest level behind the seat back. There you can loop it and tie off with zip tie.

Welcome from pa,
Yep extend the fuel line up higher
Mine didn't do it the first 2 years now it does.
Extending the vent line cures the problem

I extended mine up into the cab area and the smell was bad, had to remove when it started dripping gas on the seat back on the passenger side.

You might have a baf gas cap or other issue causing to much back pressure in the tank
