Stumbled across this forum seeking out as much info on the 1000-5 a couple of months ago, and figured it was time to register. Lots of great info on this forum. My father, and I purchased a 1000-5 together. Actually we traded our 4-wheelers, and some cash for our new white 1000-5. We are both previous honda owners as far back as 1985, when my dad bought a 250 big red. I followed a year later, and bought a 1986 250r. My dad went on to own 2 honda 4-wheelers until we bought two 2013 outlanders together. We were pretty happy with them, but just didnt put many miles on them as we would have liked. It was time to buy something our older bodies could enjoy, and get back into the honda family again. We have about a month, and 400 miles with our new toy, and couldn't be happier. I only have one complaint, and its the heat issue, but we will address that in the near future. Anyway just want to say thanks for a informative forum, and hope to contribute moving forward.
