Can anyone definitively tell me what a-arms these are? I bought a used P1k-5 and the boots on my ball joints are shot. I bought new Honda OEM ball joints but they are not the right fit. I assume these take a special ball joint but I don’t know which. Let me know if you recognize these arms. 07cf582b76de0f23fa17b6356d6c40fd2ab6c43f89220b6e066749476d4881d5

Those are CATVOS. I love the front arms.

It takes a CanAm joint and a Honda Joint. When I’m back in the shop tomorrow I’ll send you the info on which one is lower and upper.

Get a better HEIM joint like Ruffstuff because the stock ones that CATVOS uses are junk.

Here’s an Amazon item I found in my past orders. This is the CanAm ball joint you can buy.

They did that so they don’t have to make so many different outers for the a-arms. That big hunk of steel at the end is a common part for them and it’s welded to many arms for different brands of SXSs.

Man you’re awesome! Yes if you can send me the specifics on what I need I would hugely appreciate it. The heim joints are pretty rough. I’ll look into another set. If you know offhand what I size/type I need I would also love to know that.

Thanks again for the direction!

Here’s the part number for the joint. Don’t forget the jam nuts. These are reliable and cheap. You could find better and more expensive but I wouldn’t worry with it. The CATVOS heims would last me about 300 miles. These are coming up on 1000 and still good.

The Can-Am ball joint that I referenced above is for the lower a-arm. The upper a-arm uses a Honda OEM upper a arm ball joint.

So, for my front and rears, do I need 8 in total? Are they all RH?

This is getting interesting....I emailed those pictures to CATVOS to confirm before I ordered the wrong parts again. They're telling me those are not their a-arms. What the heck?

They did say that they look really similar but there are several distinct differences. I'm wondering if maybe their design has changed and these are new guys that don't recognize the old design.

It is their arms. I have their older design as well. They did not sell many of them before making some changes.

I wouldn’t worry about talking with them much. The only thing you need is to know where to get replacement joints for each end and you should be good to go forever.

I have talked to them about the bushings they use in the upper a arm. I have not sourced those from another company. So if you need that you will need to contact them.

Here’s a picture of the arms when I was installing them:

This works for front and rear and left and right.

Again, thanks for all the guidance.

I’ll order up what I need. As far as those bushings for the upper goes, do they need to be pressed out and new ones back in? Greased? Mine don’t look great (probably mostly dirty) but I’m wondering if I can make them last.

you grease them by hand before putting them in and they can be removed with a pair of pliers. You first remove the metal bushing from the inside and then you can grab the rubber pushing and twist and pull it out.

While you have it apart I would consider drill and tap for a grease fitting on the upper a arm.

If you didn’t already know this, you will need to score the metal sleeve inside the a arms. I used a cut off wheel and cut three grooves full length so the grease could go all the way to the outside. They don’t have to be very deep at all.

Gotcha. Man, I wish the last guy had taken as good of care of these as you obviously do. They’re so rough. No grease anywhere and dirty as can be. I managed to pull the sleeve and bushings out but it was a beating.

Big thanks to @joeymt33 for all his wise input. I got it all back together and took it for a spin yesterday evening. It’s buttery smooth now with zero noise. I love it. What a difference those new joints make.
