Hello all heading to Newport Tennessee next week and would like to hit some of the area trails like royal blue and or windrock. can someone please recommend a relatively mellow day ride for me and my family. I believe Windrock closer so maybe will start there. I hope to get in two or three different Day rides and probably will not camp out. Thanks

I can help here in a bit once I get to my computer.
If your looking for a family ride, RRB is more mellow then Windrock.
We have a route planned out already for a easy full day ride.

I am not opposed to some technical riding just not a full day of it. We put 500 miles in with the kid this summer in CO (in a week or so). So he’s pretty comfortable but need to be able to get some fresh air flow from time to time.

OK so if we do RRB for a day trip do we go to the RRB camp grounds to access the trail heads? Sorry not sure if RRB is a state deal or private?

Hondasxs:

I am concerned they removed the 7day option for non-resident. That will make the price skyrocket.
Do you know if this is correct. here is what i see:

This is not good, I just dug around a bit and cant find the 7 day. Looks like they may be wanting to sell more annual passes?

036 Resident Daily Permit $15.50
037 Non-Resident Annual Permit $233.00
038 Non-Resident Daily Permit $37.50

Oh well it’s worth my 37.50 a day - cheaper than a day on the boat for sure..

At least it's "per buggy". Brimstone is $25 per person per day.
