The whole paying money to the Govt sucks beyond the whole money thing. Looking for land is very frustrating unless you’re bank rolled. Using google earth all the time, I see so much of the country has been plotted out and divided up. I envy what the Native Americans saw and experienced before European contact. It seems only parts of Alaska might still lay unexplored or ever felt a human footprint. The world seems to be getting smaller by the day.

It depends on the setup, we have an HOA but it was put together by the people who own homes and property on my road and is only for road maintenance and requirements on building. We charge $200 twice a year if you have a home here and $100 twice a year if you only have property. Your house has to be stick built and a minimum of 2400 sq ft. Ours is pretty simple, I know a few of my buddies live in places where you have to the same plants, mailboxes, etc. We have 7 to 15 acre lots where I live, it’s like a small country subdivision.
