Was thinking I might try making some myself out of the uhmw. Wondering if anyone else that may have already gone this route has an idea of how much material I might need to acquire. Machine isn't home right now to measure it myself.

Yes, I think @JCart and perhaps @solrus have.

I have UHMW sheet left from my skid plate project. Personally I would buy aluminum A arms guards, and dont stress :)

But if you decided to fabricate your own out of UHMW , then pm me if you need UMHW sheet.

I'm not opposed to aluminum ones, just figured if it's cheaper material wise to make them I would go that route. If I'm looking at close to the same cost then I'll probably just buy aluminum. Any recommendations on them?

I've used Aluminum products front and rear arm guards Honda Pioneer 500 2015-2016 | Aluminum Products, Inc.

I saw someone posted even with more surface of coverage. Search here or google is your best friend
Do those work in conjunction with the plastic partial guards that are factory then? Or do those get removed. Just wondering if the ones in their pic are removed to show the product itself..

I have pix in my sig link I think... Used 3mm thick black UHMW with a light aluminum angle and riveted the UHMW to the angle. I opted to self make as the aluminum factory ones are pricey here in Canada. Also aluminum grips rocks where UHMW slides off lastly I trimmed the stock plastic Cv Boot guards a bit for full lock.

cheers.

So slight change of plans. Was going to buy the aluminum products guards which seemed like a good deal at $142 for the set. Upon going on their site they currently have a 30% sale on complete sets, so...for $363 (which is $15 less than the full belly set alone) you can get both the belly kit and a-arm gaurds. Wasn't really looking to spend $400, but at the sale deal, the guards are basically free with buying skids.. Just an FYI if anyone else is looking for the too.

You could always try calling them and see if you can get the rest at the sale price? I'm guessing they'd say no, but worth a call at least maybe..
