Hell of an idea well doneFound a Ford F-150 Bed Extender for 30 bucks so for another 20 I was able to narrow it shorten it make the brackets paint everything install it on the rig worked out well

Nice work! I've considered doing that too. Were you tempted to cut it down to a 2 tube rack instead of 3? It looks like the middle tube would be almost the right height for the bed sides.

Share a photo gps.....I did the same thing, but I left mine as deep as the stock truck bed tailgate (2 feet maybe?). It then extends beyond the Honda tailgate when down, so I added a partial bottom to it that matches up flush with the Honda tailgate when flipped. That gave the storage area another 10" in bed depth or so. Mine can be reversed back in the bed when the rear seats are down. So to convert, I open the tailgate, flip the truck bed extender, then pull up the rear seats. Works awesome.
