Ok so I ran a stick through my right rear outer CV boot, happens on most of my machines sooner or later. I go to Procaliber.com and order the CV Boot kit from them Honda part # 42440-HL4-A01 as BOOT SET RR on parts fiche. Thier price $46.04 has everything to do one axle both inner & outer boots, 4 clamps, C-clip, snap ring, and grease. Decided to be safe and get a front kit too 44240-HL4-A01 just in case. Didn't think anything about it looked it up added to cart with an air filter and placed order .

Order arrived today guess what both kits are same part number 44240-HL4-A01 but front kit cost $50.46 and rear kit cost $46.04. They msrp for $73.40 & $66.47 respectively.

So if you order OEM Boots check both front and rear part # and prices. FYI

How do I get the clamps to come apart is there a tool? I had the small end of boot clamp come off somehow and need to open big end to fill full of grease.
Is there a trick or tool that makes it easier? Tried vise grip pliers but didn't want to mess big clamp up!

I have always been able to finesse them open with a very small screw driver or ice pick point tool. Getting them back on without the superwhankydyne Honda tool is a different matter. With patience this type of end cutting pliers will do it:

8-1/4" Carpenters' Pincers

Are these clamps made to be reusable?
That depends on the removal process. LOL
I always order the kit with them included and use new ones.

I would just rather try and fix on my own instead of sending it in for warranty that could take 1-3months.
It is popping she turning a certain way on asphalt but I'm hoping if I clean it out enough and plenty of grease I can fix it. What ya think?

The popping could be the boot making good noise. I would completely disassemble the CV joint removing the balls and all clean and decrease everything and inspect for wear or damage just to be safe. Then reassemble packing with fresh grease.

Looks like the part numbers on the slip are not exact. First two numbers are "44" and on the other "42".

Dang! I just noticed that.

@JACKAL, are the part numbers really the same or different? I can't believe I missed that after looking closely.

Well after making a bunch of new cuss words trying to latch that OEM Boots clamp I opened the other box with the same part number and it had different size clamps! The small clamps on the axle are all stamped 27.8 as in mm. The large clamps tbough are marked 81.6 for the front and 76.3 for the rear. So even though the kit has same part # (EXCEPT ONE DIGIT) the dog gone contents is different sizes. Even the grease included is different. The grease for rear is mustard yellow and for the front is black.

Are you sure the part numbers are the same? The pic of the numbers above is different.

I don't understand the difference in grease though.
