Good day

I just bought an 18 Pioneer 1000 5 LE with I4WD.
Haven't really got any miles on it yet but in my effort to familiarize myself with it, I noticed that when I shifted the shifter to I4WD, there is no light on the dash or the indicator does not light up.
Curious if it should light up the dash when switched to I4WD or does it come on when it does its thing?

I'll re read the manual to be sure.

Thanks for any insight and expertise of this forum.

Jim

The indicator will not come on with just moving the control knob to I4wd. It take a few feet of driving for it to engage, them it should show up. Some suggest making some S turns to help it engage or even disengage...same with going from 2wd and turf.

Mine did need to be adjusted at the 100 mile service. It took forever to get it to engage.

Now....works like a charm.

What he said, after going a short distance, everything engages and then it will show up on dash.

I just bought a 2020 1000-5 LE and I cant get it to shift into the i4wd. Is this probably a module problem?

How do you adjust that? I see the videos on the turf and 2wd drive adjust but not for that?

Just moving to lever while stationary will not always indicate I-4WD, you have to go forward. If it still isn't indicated, could be cables not properly adjusted, or even ground wires not making proper contact. The system is sensitive to low voltage, when battery is slightly low the I-4WD error light and or power steering error light can come on, as system charges while running those error lights will go off when system voltage reaches acceptable levels.

^^^ My Talon was delivered with loose-ish battery terminals and they were loose again 2 months later.

I've checked all of that battery charge seems to be fine. The adjustment I found and it seems just fine. I can't get it to show that it is in 4wd on the dash.

i'm not familiar with the talon, but my pioneer was not reading 4wd or 4wd lock and it was the shift cables being waaay out of adjustment.and it had low miles.i think it's the cables just getting slack from new and getting shifted alot.if that makes sense.

Re reading my post from almost a year and half ago.. it's the cable adjustment. All of them need adjusted new and again after the cables seat a bit.
100% satisfied with 0 issues. And I ride with every flavor.
