I'm so burned out on spending money on a trail rig, to make it trail worthy! Looking for another buggy, seems they all have the same flaws!
They all do have the same flaws, the owners modify the machines to where they dont perform as designed. A Pioneer with true 27/28 tires will go everywhere one with 30"+ tires but without messing up the low speed gearing. But people need to buy all the confidence they can afford, then fix on it until it breaks. After that they complain how they machine under performs.

I know I ask more of my machine than it was designed to do so I don’t complain about it breaking. If they put out a mud edition I’d buy it and then expect it to be good but I know they never will so I’m building my own. And 27/28” tires won’t cut it where we ride, I tried
But yes I see your point and see a lot of people complaining

I understand completely. I based my comment from taking a 2016 P1K5D and spending 8K on it, big tires, lift, the whole shebang then bought a 2018 P1K5LE left it stock (even the OEM tires) I have ran both in identical terrain over 3k miles each in East TN mountains. I've replaced 1 tie rod and gotten 1 flat on the LE, on the decked out 2016 went through 4 tie rods, 3 axles, 2 clutches, and a few flats. To me, it isn't worth the extra $$$$ spent on the mods and repairs for exactly the same value of fun for a $20 tie rod.

When I took the lift off the 2016, no more broken axels FWIW.

Yeah for mountain and trail riding I could see it for sure. I will try that type riding one day but for now we like to play in the mud

The real issue is what many of us are doing with these machines they were never meant to do. Honda didn’t over build them by ANY means. Sure, you can take a Prius where you take your 4x4 truck, to some extent, but you’re going thrash the car doing the same things or have to take a different route. Hence, why we mod them.

When you getting the adjustable width wheels that adjust down to 50 inch? HA!

I agree... it would make more sense for me. But I’m hung on the idea of maybe I just get a sport machine for my riding and reserve the pioneer for the family... I dunno.

I love mine it is/was a little loud but I took it to a shop and they said I got a bad set of gears and they are being changed now. To be clear not working bad just not cut perfect so a little loud. When I get my new set I will try to remember to chime in on how quiet the new set is. But they have worked great for 2 years with my 32s on them.

It is as quiet as stock all the guys I ride with talk about how its quieter then the rangers they drive. Gears were changed for free so thats a plus.

Would like to add the other gears whined from day one so it wasn't a started after so long I have a ton of hard miles on the new set and work great.

Love my IGR, I really miss high range though, Morris bros are coming out with a low range kit that's in the sub transmission, I will more then likely pull IGR and go with the new setup.

With 32s I'm just like stock as far as gear math. I would still need to add that also. I couldn't find them do you have a link?

I was wondering why they dog the IGR EVERY chance they get. I haven’t seen anything from them that I wouldn’t doubt more than a Democrat telling me the sky is blue. Blurry shaky dark videos that show nothing but tout HUGE GAINS, their stuff probably works about as good as anything you bought off wish.com. The massive # of reviews they have were probably bought off wish.com....

No link yet but the preorder price is $1250 for a low range and reverse gear set.

No clue about their gear options but I am more than satisfied with their tune I got. Huge difference and feels like a new machine. They both have been great to work with to me even though I know they aren’t liked very much here 🤷🏻‍♂️
