Grind a notch. WeldBummer @rocmar . Sounds like it held up pretty good considering the hit it took.
I'm sure..my tie rod... ( drivers side )..Saw a guy on facebook tore his arms off. I don't think he even hit anything other than ruts & dips. I think he mentioned in his case he thought it was work hardening due to over tightened pivot bolts. But, I am going from memory as it was last year.
Might be worth throwing the axle back in and checking it on pavement they hold up well usually and I imagine even better being short like the 500?I'm sure..my tie rod... ( drivers side )..

When you say jacked to the left, how badly? Is it obviously out, or does it just "look" out...because eyeballing it can be tough unless its obviously really out.Put new axle in....
left front tire...still jacked to the left..
while right wheel straight
took boot off tie rod...nothing seems
bent..or broken...just ordered
ball joints....any ideas... where else
I should look...
Where the ball joints lose? Did you aline it? And check tie rod?Put new axle in....

Mine wobble, but are within limits after adjustments. When you say jacked to the left, how badly? Is it obviously out, or does it just "look" out...because eyeballing it can be tough unless its obviously really out.
Easiest way to check the inner tie rod end for bendage is to loosen the outer tie rod lock nut and rotate it a turn back and forth. Any runout (wobble) will give you the answer.
I hate stuff like this...where obviously, something is wrong, yet nothing can be found. I had the same problem on a Rubicon (long story) and the dealer just reset the toe. That just band-aiding something else thats bent. Any paint flaking anywhere? Thats usually a sign of bending.
What do you mean by "within limits"? Most of them have a tiny bit of runout (they aren't pushrods, after all)...but they shouldn't look like a jump rope.Mine wobble, but are within limits after adjustments.
Are the threads to the ball joint ends the same?Put new axle in....
