Welcome from NC. i just put on 29" tires that measure 28.5. im running stock aluminum wheels but know there is a chance they might rub. I got 1' spacers on the way for it and my front tires are 9" wide so i hope all that helps. otherwise ill be forced into A-Arms as well

Yeah, I was originally going to try 30" tires, but I know they won't fit without the forward A-arms. Been taking some measurements and 28" tires would fit with no trouble since they're only a couple inches bigger than stock. Also considering a set of 1" - 1 1/2" wheel spacers.
The OEM 27" tires are only about 25.6" actual height. The Roctane XD 28x10x14 tires are a full 28.4" in diameter when aired up and have been run. I have over 2200 miles on a set with 6+1 offset STI HD3 wheels if you go 5+2 or standard 4+3 offset wheels will not need spacers at all. I use a 2" lift but not mandatory with those other offset wheels.

For what its worth I am going to the 27x9 front and 27x11 rear Roctane XD when I replace these, less stress on the front end, I almost never drag as it is losing 1" isn't worth keeping the added stress on the front diff, steering rack, tie rods, etc.

View attachment 59057 View attachment 59058 View attachment 59059 View attachment 59060 I’ve got your answer on 28” Roctanes and STI wheels. First off Roctanes measure 28.25” at 13 psi and sti wheel are 5+2 offset. Secondly you will have to trim aftermarket skidplates if you have them. Third the tires will rub on the drivers side inner fender. I ran 28” Roctanes on Sti5s for a few months before I added Superatv forward A-arms. No rubbing with the a-arms. I am running 1” spacers on the front and 2” spacers on the rear to balance out the width on the change in wheels. To do it over again- start with the forward front a-arms. Check out my build and it describes all the different combinations I’ve tried. By the way these are for sale as I moved up to 30’s.
