Last of the Tomatoes

Decided to harvest the rest of the Tomatoes this evening, had some ripe Roma's, good canning Tomato. The green ones are Cherokee Purples. You old timers know the trick with the news paper and crate. But for the new timers, I will explain, before the first hard freeze pick all your Tomatoes, ripe, green. Wrap the green Tomatoes individually in news paper, store in a cool dry area,Thanksgiving week, move some inside to finish ripening, with this method, you'll have garden fresh Tomatoes for Christmas dinner, pretty cool! These are organic Tomatoes, that's why there so ugly!

Ugly is edible.. Americans worry too much about blemishes and want perfect damage free storable tomatoes. Organically grown are the best!

Our dogs raid our tomatoes. We made gallons of salsa. Ive got 2 walmart bags of jalapenos and 2.5 of bell peppers we picked before the freeze last week.
