Nice work Chooglin! Finally finished installing the cables for the doggy patio on the toyhauler. Back in post 228 I was asking about a cable kit , well I purchased it and as @Neohio mentioned, the brackets and screws are junk.
I made up some brackets of my own and used SS bolts along with a SS backing plate on the outside. I sandwiched a piece of plastic (from my old OEM skid plates) between the aluminum and SS plate to keep the aluminum from corroding (aluminum and SS don't get along).
I ended up not using the turnbuckles, it made the cables to long!

Thanks @MontecrestoNice work Chooglin!
Didn't read through all 12 pages, so apologize if it's been mentioned.
I've heard that toy haulers stink of gasoline, rubber, and other solvents inside due to them hauling around vehicles that are full of gas, rubber, and other solvents. Is this true?
Second, from what I've seen, finding a toy hauler in which a P500 will fit means going up to at least a 24' to 26' RV, which is just too much for my current tow vehicle; a 2005 GMC Yukon.
Is there a toy hauler model that is smaller that the 8' P500 will fit in?
It seems that going to a used Class C motorhome and towing my P500 in it's trailer would be cheaper and easier.

Those look nice but still way too heavy for my Yukon and it's 7500lb tow limit. Smallest one has a 6800lb dry weight!

My F-150 had a 7800 pound tow rating and I would say I was maxed out when pulling with the 500 in there. It pulled fine (5.0 6 speed). I go on some long haul trips ,so I traded the F-150 in on a F-250 just for piece of mind!!!Chooglin has a 24 XLR Hyperlite and a P500 he towed with an F150
As long as it’s towed with the intake and exhaust vents open on opposite sides of the garage, I’ve never had that issue. That may be a different story if you have a smaller unit that doesn’t have an actual isolated garage from the living quarters.I've heard that toy haulers stink of gasoline, rubber, and other solvents inside due to them hauling around vehicles that are full of gas, rubber, and other solvents. I do like mine too, I just wish that they had awnings to go with them....Testing out the doggy patio this weekend..........I love this thing!

That’s better than nothing to be sure, but a switch on the wall that puts an awning out like the ones on the side would sure be nice....
They do but they are a $1500 option.I do like mine too, I just wish that they had awnings to go with them....
Ouch....I don’t remember the dealer offering that. They do but they are a $1500 option.
