Or bring a 44 magnum and be prepared to prove you got attacked because shooting a bear out of season and without a license can get ye in a heap of problems with the Forest Service. If you do shoot one, you do need to report it.

I’ve been reading write ups and posts on a host of forums from people that have camped the MC, haven’t seen anybody mention a bear problem yet. No worries.

Left Chama New Mexico at 7:30 this morning and made Ogden Utah at 7:30 this evening. Not nearly as cool a place to stay as last night. Looks like about 7 hours to Darby tomorrow.

I’m all ears. Any input on mapping and side roads/side trips sounds good. Please advise.

My sxs is licensed/tagged with turn signals and horn and full coverage insurance. So is the tiny trailer I’ll be towing.

7:02 am and we’re pulling out of Ogden. It’s 75* already but the sun hasn’t quite poked over the mountains running north and south to the east. Going to be on I-15 thru Pocatello Idaho. I haven’t been thru Pocatello since my 1962 Ford Falcon Ranchero was stolen there, needless to say I’m probably not stopping.....

Exit I-15 at Blackfoot on SH26 north to SH93 into Darby.....

Sounds great. I thought that mjn had posted that it’s been hot, upper 90’s?????

Anyway, it was 74* early this morning, I’m in Pocatello Idaho now and it’s 11:00 and just 79*....feels great!

I bought a Smittybuilt bracket and installed it to the roof with the required shovel/axe combo.

Well it gets slightly hotter there but not normally too much. Only had a couple days so far at close to 90 here. Showing 70 today. Gradually moving up to 93 on Tuesday the straight back down after that. Normally a lot higher right now. And it’s been raining 1-2 a week. Pretty decent for the inland NorthWest.
