I have been running 27" 'Dirt Tamers' for about a year now. No spacers. Couldn't feel much difference in tip-ability but a much smoother ride. 9's front, 11's back, 8lbs air all around.

Oem BH 2.0's are 4 ply, aftermarket BH's are 6 ply and wear like iron. I'd suggest going with the 5+2's as you'll probably find that's enough for stability and still remains a pretty narrow stance. Can always add spacers if not comfortable with it. As for 27's and no more tippiness, makes me question what trail conditions are being ridden? Flat even trails, you could probably run 30's and not sweat it. One ride through the ruts of RRB , that machine will be on its side all day unless you turn around. Many of us have been there, done that. I preached that to @100Acre for a long time but he stuck to his guns. After several times of going over he finally caved, don't think he's been on his side since. ;)

Heading to Mack's Pines Friday to do some riding in the forest. Taking my 500 and P1k so if I topple over I can upright and admit you're right.

Heading to Mack's Pines Friday for some Ozarks riding. Taking my 500 and P1k so if I tumble the 500 I have a rescue source. My rims are 5+2. Got them when I got the tires cause I wanted the originals for a rainy day. I thought the originals were 5+2. Are they not?

I'm under the impression stock rims are 4+3. Anybody confirm?

I read somewheres stock rims are:
Front 12x6 with a 4.5+1.5 offset
Rear is 12x7.5 with a 6+1.5 offset

But could be wrong

Pretty much right. If you put a tape to the rear rim it's a little over 2".

I loved the wheel/tire setup on my P500, and I would recommend it. It was stable, the ground clearance increased substantially, the look was killer, and the performance was awesome - including minimal tire wear after nearly 1000 miles of asphalt and rocky trails. I can only speak from personal experience, I have no reason NOT to recommend this setup.

It’s interesting to see different setups for different terrain . I run the paddle tires for the south Florida swamp ..

Thanks ...doesn't sound like there are any problems going then with 7 wide, 5+2 all around ... Correct? 52-53 in the back then without spacers with 26X11's?

Well, I went with Sunf A033 (directly from Sunf with a 10% discount), 12” 5+2 IPT steel wheels from RMATV. Whole deal was around $500.

51.5” wide - no prob where I ride, gained ground clearance, as well. 10 psi for now, may try 8 this weekend.

Are those 26" or 27"?

26-9 front, 26-11 rear - I considered 27", but I think they would have rubbed the frame at full turn. I have about 1-1/2-2" at full turn right now.

Well, rode Saturday & Sunday in the beautiful weather - very rocky trails. The ride was rough, but traction was great and the tires performed well. Definitely more ground clearance. Took the pressure down to 8 psi, may move to 7 for next ride. Need to disconnect the damn sway bar, but I'm not sure where to zip tie it until I try riding without it.

Rule of thumb on this machine is if you go up you need to go out. We've read some horror stories from those that chose not to listen.
My opinion on tires is you get what you pay for. Radials make a big difference with the ride. Been running BH 2.0's since buying mine and haven't had any tire issues. Sun F just copied their tread pattern and, unless I was on a really tight budget, wouldn't even consider them. I've heard good things about the Trilobites but don't know anything about them. BH's run big btw, 26's are 26.5 actual.
All I got, good luck.
I also have 26" BG 2.0. For mixed type of surfaces they are an effective comfortable tire. I sure can appreciate that add-on accessories and upgrades for these machines can be pricey. However, scraping up the funds for a good, tough radial tire is worth it in the long run.
I winced when I wrote the check for my Bighorn originals for my Grizzly 700 a few years ago. But after 2,000 miles of hardriding over lots of rock trails they show little signs of wear. No flats.
I'm a new guy on the block, but listen to that Trigger fella' he seems know what he's talking about.
