What if any modifications are necessary to install the kit if you have Honda oem nerf bars?

As long as you are talking about the fender extensions, I would think they would work fine. All these nerf bars pretty much mount the same. Works perfectly with my Super ATV nerfs. Now if you are asking about the rear mud guards that go in the spot where the nerfs mount, then that is a whole new ball game. I cut holes in the MudBuster guards to make it work but it was a giant pain in the butt.

I bent up my own nerf bars and used Mud Busters on my short course car. All.i had to do was trim them a little to fit around the mounting tubes I welded in. Wasn't difficult and the benefits of the Mud Busters outweighed the work to install them.
