So I've done a fair amount of reading about offsets and spacers, and I think I've settled on a 5+2 for the most "factory" feel (if I'm not mistaken this will be just slightly wider than factory).

So here's my tire plan: I've got a set of brand new 6 ply bighorn 2.0 in 29x9x14 laying in the garage from another utv. My understanding is that they will fit without lift/a-arms. As much as I would love to go with a 28x10 terrabite all the way around, I can't wrap my head around spending the extra 250 or so to buy 4 of those. I'm looking at the 29x11x14 tusk trilobite (Bighorn knock off) in 8 ply to replace my rear.

My understanding is the factory rear wheel is wider than the front. If I go with aftermarket wheels, are the front/backs going to be taller because of the extra squeeze on the wider tire (7 inch rim all the way around)? Would I be better off to stay with the factory wheels for this set up?

Alternatively, is anyone running a 29x9 on all four corners? How goofy would that look?

Considering the sti hd beadlock

Anyone have any experience with those?

I like the MSA m12 and m20 as well, but I think I'm scared off the 4+3 for fear of mud in the cab everytime I take a leisurely cruise.

I run the MSA m12’s with terrabites and wheel spacers and the mud isn’t bad with MudBusters mud guards.

That's a sharp set up @Eltobgi, probably my favorite combo. Did you lose a ton of turning radius when you went with the wider wheels? And spacers... So you are running 4+3 wheels AND spacers?

My only hang up with going that route is that I have two perfectly good front tires that would go to waste, and I go from 240 bucks (just ordering the new trilobite rears) to in the ballpark of $1100 (wheels, tires, mudbusters). That's a chunk of change

Turning radius was effected but I believe it was from Forward and Rear arching AArms. Really happy with the set up even with the diminished turning radius. They will be coming off soon and I will be mounting my factory rims and bighorns for winter.

We put a 27x9 front and a 27x11 rear on the same 7 inch wheels on the rescue rig. Looks great and performance is the same .

Davey do you notice a height difference front to rear? Any chance I could get you to snag a measurement on height next time you are close? My main concern is that it will mess up my 4wd if they are too far off front to back. I'm very conservative with using it (must be sliding all over) so I know I'm likely being OCD about it, but it sounds expensive if I did mess it up.

Also, what offset are those wheels? Thanks!

You will not notice a difference in height between the front and rear. Trust me :DI'm running 29" Big Horns on an HD4 7" wheel 5"+2" offset on all four corners. 9" tire in front 11" in rear, completely stock machine, has never rubbed anywhere, not even loaded with gear in the mountains. You'll be fine. The 1000 looks so much better when you fill up some of that extra fender well space with tire.;)

Thanks @TimG I knew someone had to have tried this set up before! You retained your turning radius and all? That's one of my favorite things about my p1000 compared to my old XP 1000: turns MUCH tighter.

Yes same turning radius. Looks much better IMO,the added ground clearance is a world of difference, rides much better than the stock tires and I really like the fact that my machine is still stock.
