So there are several mounts like this already out there.. I ended up just going with the “big sky?” overhead.... my thoughts on a mount for the pioneer was something that was 2 fold. Look at the grab bar on the Wolverine and make a mount that both acted as a gun mount and also a passenger grab bar. There are plenty of gun mount options but very few grab bar options. So, make it both and you’ll sell a s*** ton at a more premium price!
we have alot of people wanted mounts to ride in the middle off the floor not on the roof or behind the seat. but we are always open to suggestions!!!

You've already addressed the barrel up or down issue. As I hinted earlier, weight of the rifle and mount being supported at the base only. Will the pioneer floors and a few bolts hold it all as we "float" across the pasture in pursuit ? And lastly what the heck is a ULTEM 200MM MANUAL WAFER STEPPER.

we will be adding a Butt stop as well with some kind of rubber padding or something, straps will be added- still in progress.
lol, the ultem 200mm manual wafer stepper is for our semiconductor side - MGI Machining is our machine shop.

A weapons mount on the hood or bumper, with barrel facing outward seems more my style. Simple bipod mount for an RPK, etc would work...Passenger or driver operated.

I like it as revised with gun barrel down. However I question if it will be strong enough with floor mount only? Maybe some additional support from seat or dash framework? I'm very interested in purchasing if it proves to be of solid construction and mounting.

Have you thought about something similar to this link. They have mounts for tubing in SxS but you could also develop something for floor mount between riders. Key feature is the quick release locking device. Allows you to leave long or short gun securely in SxS when you stop for lunch or leave the rig for any reason.

We have hunters here at RB3 and this is what they come up for their first prototype! We would like your opinions and thoughts! see attached picsView attachment 222372View attachment 222373View attachment 222374View attachment 222375View attachment 222376View attachment 222377
I hunt with two buddies. If we have to haul a dead deer in the back, all three have to fit in the front seat. It would be possible for the person in the middle to straddle the gun mount (business end down). I would want it more vertical and tight to the dash. I would also buy a multi gun rack that attached behind the first row head rests, or under the roof between the second and third row roll cage bars.

Your idea looks good. I have suppressors on all my guns so add another 8 inches to a 24 inch barrel I would want my barrels up towards the roof don't need mud in the barrel. Now I have to get busy and build my own.

Good Luck with muzzle down. There is just no way to support the weight of the receivers on most hunting rifles that high in the air. I have a Kolpin and am tall, there is no way I can accidently get my head over the muzzle while in the rack.

Remember if its overhead roll bar mount most of us have roofs that may interfere with a bulky mount. Also many shotguns are 50-52" long.
