I wouldn’t sweat the skids too much. Doesn’t sound like you’ll be doing the kind of riding that would require them. I’ve had my 1000-5 since 2016 and done all kinds of trail riding around NH and VT and it’s doing just fine. A couple of scuffs on the OEM skid and that’s it. I’m not easy on it either.
Another great point... The Honda hard roof is definitely lighter than the Bad Dawg. I like the idea of clamps instead of nuts n bolts too. I’ll deal with the added height for now. The ROPS is quite tall. At some point I may start to research chopping it down a bit.

Thanks for the reply Dilligaff82. Are you familiar with the Ride The Wilds trail system in Northern NH? The trails are rated for 65 inch wide machines. From what I’ve seen that seems to be the case, but I’ve heard of some having issues getting through the gates....
