Hey guys, new to the forum, and new to pioneers. Just bought my first sxs, a 2018 Pioneer 1km3 EPS. I think the front end could use some more protection, and I found a Wild Boar front bumper that seems to be reasonably priced. Can anyone give any input, good or bad on these bumpers?

Welcome from Alabama!

I have a Wild Boar front bumper on my 2018 1000-5. I like it very much and it fit the unit well, but I had to do some modifications to make the winch work. It did have spatter in some areas.

Will send more information on my modification and some pictures later.

Thanks for all the replies. Well I pulled the trigger, ordered the Wild Boar front bumper. I will have a busy week next week installing new bumper, rear window, radio, horn, some LEDs, gun rack... I know why you guys call it an addiction! Also doing a cup holder mod too so I can fit my yeti in it. Will post pics as I go. Loving the Pioneer so far and all the builds on this forum. Gives me lots of ideas to dream about!

I would hold off on that rear window for a bit. I take the windows and doors off mine for summer. It will be a much cooler ride. Wait until fall before putting it on. It just traps hot air and doesn't allow much air flow. Just my 2 cents

Well from my experience with both Gators and Rangers, with just a front window, you get a lot of swirling and dust coming in the cab. With the front and rear window it does get a little stale, which is why I got the tip out bottom window. That way you can open it up and get some air moving through.

Agreed I had the same issue with swirling. I didn't realize your front tipped out that should definitely help.

So the two modifications I had to make:

1. grid the four bolt holes that the mounting bolts must pass through in order to thread into the bottom of my Warn Vantage 4000-S.

2. Enlarge the hole for the fairlead and drill new holes for the mounting bolts so the synthetic rope would not rub the sharp steel.

So I just got back home from being out of town all week for work and I had piles of boxes waiting for me! My wife had lots of questions and wasn’t as excited as I was. Got my radio, cup holders, gun rack, horn, mirrors, Wild Boar bumper, LED headlight bulbs and some LED pods. First I got my radio installed today, love the fit and finish of the SSV. Does anyone have an opinion on how to wire the radio? I go back and forth between wired direct to the battery with a switch, or keyed power. I don’t plan on running the radio a lot without the key on, but if I would happen to, it would be nice to not drain as much battery. So looking for suggestions either way there. Opened up the box on the Wild Boar, and there’s no hardware or instructions. I can probably figure it out and wouldn’t follow the instructions anyway, but does anyone know if I'm supposed to re-use the factory hardware? Also there was no LEDs in the bumper and they were supposed to come with it. Sent the EBay seller a message, waiting to hear back from them, but otherwise I have a weekend of installation fun ahead of me!
