  1. 1000-3
I just picked up a 1000-3 deluxe, a few observations already with 7 miles on it. Do 2022’s need a winch bracket? Every one I see, Kai, etc. only show 16 to 21 model years. I thought I read somewhere that the 22’s already had mounting, but looking at mine I can’t imagine what a bracket would mount to. It’s got a fairlead cutout in the bumper but it’s nowhere near strong enough to pull a buggy anywhere. I’m still looking/learning.
Cons so far: Throttle is real jumpy out of the hole, it’s hard to ease it on in any kind of rough terrain.
Bed rattles against the latch.
No place on the receiver to put safety chains for a trailer. Can’t believe I’m already welding on it, but that’s where I chain it down on the trailer and the toy hauler. Also tow straps, cables etc.

Actually not bad if that’s all I have to b**** about. I’m not a new guy, I’m really an old guy that’s new to Honda.

Word of warning, don't leave your stinger in the receiver on trails, the strength the receiver has is the tongue weight down, if you drop off a rock ledge you can bend the receiver up. Been there done that. I use my P1 to pull my log splitter other trailers a short distance and don't use the safety chains. And welcome to the club!

I’ve had my Mule pro fxr hit the receiver so hard the hitch wouldn’t slide in without some real persuasion. Since then I leave the small end of a hitch extender in it.

Now I’ve got a whopping 60 miles on it, more first impressions. Keep in mind, these are compared to my former ride, mule pro 812cc
Power; oh yeah, just what I was hoping for. My biggest problem was that Kaw detuned to about 40hp, hence the 3 year warranty. Other than that, the Honda drives much more refined, maybe just a feeling.
suspension is real stiff for what I do, I’m hoping the shocks limber up after a few hundred miles.
Under 40, it’s real quiet, can hardly hear the exhaust, but can hear the trans trigger clicking. I imagine that may change when I get a windshield and roof on it. The Minister of Finance said if she couldn’t hear the gear whine it would be like a Tesla. Nice to know she’s happy after writing that check! I’ll keep adding observations as I go, first service is this weekend.
Additional note: If you’re in central AZ, c’mon out to Cleator and we’ll go riding. Pony express comes through Thursday on their way to crown king, if you don’t mind cowboys it’s a real party.

That’s great, thanks. It’s actually what I was going to do but on a Curt extension I have kicking around. This’ll be a lot cleaner, especially if I’m the one welding.
