I recently got new rims for my p500 and I had to wait to take them to the tire store until they were open then I had to pay 40 bucks to get the tires mounted
That was the cheapest place too other places wanted 80.00
So yesterday I had a flat on my Rubicon and was on YouTube and saw the portable tire changer by Pittsburgh and was so impressed that I went and picked one up and today I pulled the tire off my 4x4 and with in minutes I had the tire off the rim fixed the leak and remounted the tire
I was so impressed that I just wanted to recommend it, for under 40.00 I can see where it will come in handy
No more paying to do something I can do myself

I use the HF bead breaker and a couple of long pry bars usually. NOT for alloy rims, though.

This one has the bead breaker on it and it seems to work great the tire I fixed is off a 02 Rubicon
The first time they have been off since it was new and the bead was stuck pretty good
Didn't even phase it

Does it have protective covers for the bar?

On the YouTube video it shows it with tape on it where it makes contact with the rim but you could probably just remove the red paint or put some kind of pad on it

I wouldn't use it for car tires but I figured atv or sxs tires or even lawnmower just to fix a leak or to put a tube in it's paid for itself

I mounted mine with drop in anchors that way i can just remove the bolts and they are flush with the floor
I've also seen it mounted to a pallet or a piece of plywood

I mount to a pallet, the bead breaker works well for me. I have changed a lot of motorcycle tires with the attachment, and utv tires. It's handy if you need to clean your beads out of mud. I took my tires off last season and tried using silicone to seal the bead so I could air down lower, kinda like a poor mans bead lock. It only worked for a while, once the beads jot loaded up with wood or big rocks they peal away.

$32 harbor freight tire changer ftw!

After the first tire I used lag bolts to temporarily anchor it to my trailer.

Worked amazingly well.

I have one lagged to the floor upstairs in my barn. Has motorcycle adaptor also. I have mounted many motorcycle, atv, utv, trailer, truck and car tires. Worst thing having it is when the neighbors found out! ;-), but l don’t mind!

Almost needed one today, while washing after ride, noticed some tree debris sticking out from bead. Aired down and removed junk. Luckily no leakage on trail. Thx for posting.

Stupid question, can you use this harbor freight bead breaker to help install a tire on a rim?
