I have developed a overheating issue with my p700-2. I did install a inferno heater last winter and have drove 400-500 miles since. At first I thought maybe it was air-locked and it just did not overheat due to cooler weather. It's 85 degrees today and we were on the roads about 8 miles and all sudden temp shot up to 4 bars. It runs 5 bar warning light on idling and cools down 2-4 bars when moving (without hood). The over flow tank is full when hot, bottom radiator hose cool to touch and top hose hot. Heater hoses both hot. After it started running hot I headed home. Got to 2 miles of pavement and went full throttle for 3/4 mile and it cooled to 2 bars. HELP!

After getting home I shot it with a temp gun. Top radiator hose 155, bottom 114, hoses under seat range from 180 - 200. These temps were taken with motor idling and 5 bars on temp gauge.

If the fan working? Kinda sounds like it isn't.

A proper running 700 NEVER gets over 2 bars. If you need to test the fan, disconnect the coolant temp sensor on the back of the head, and the fan will start approx 2 seconds after key on, and stay on until key-off. This will set a code and check engine light, but the light will go away after you hook at back up.

Dang was hoping for more feedback! I did pull bleeder with radiator cap off and no air came out just liquid. I let it run for 20 minutes without cap and a lot of air bubbled out but not had a chance to check it yet. It did not over heat in the 20 minutes

Sorry @Dockman...don't know what to say. It really sounded fan. Does the fan seem to be turning at the proper speed? Or a flow restriction that is overcome by rpm.
Could be air as well, so hopefully that was it.

Where is the heater plumed into, the Oil cooler lines? I'd be very hesitant to install anything on the main hoses to and from the radiator unless I could confirm that it flowed VERY freely.

I guess ultimately, if you can't find something else, you can temporarily remove/bypass the heater and see if it goes back to normal.

Also, when you burp it, put the front end as high as you can get it.

Just returned from a 15 mile ride. All was seeming fine until we stopped about 6 miles into ride and it instantly went to 5 bars. Rev motor a little and it cools back down. I can go wot for a mile and it runs 2-3 bars. Once I got back home I let it idle in driveway for 20 minutes (5 bars). While idling I checked all hoses which range from 100 to 190. Shot several different places on motor which ran 150 to 195. I am lost! Fan is blowing towards motor and air is not hot. I can shut motor off wait 30 seconds and motor starts back up just fine.

It sounds like the thermostat is possibly stuck either closed or mostly closed.
You are sending coolant through the Inferno which at idle cannot keep up with the slow flow but at higher rpm you can send enough through it to cool your machine.
Just my .02.
Let us know.

I put thermostat in pan of water on stove and it does open all the way. Started opening about 190 and closing around 170.

That sucks,
I has to be an airflow issue then.
Either fan or an obstruction.
Have you certainly ruled out an air pocket?
I am trying here but coming up short

Looks to be the pump. I started it with thermostat out and housing off. No water moving at an idle and when revved it pushed water out. I shot video but guess I can't upload a video.

That's a new one on me.
I have only once seen a pump fail.
Hopefully you have found it.

Was the kink in a factory hose or one for the heater that was added?
