Well...dang. I can't. Stock tires are gone.

Surely someone else can pull the tape on that for you. Or I can on these 26" tires if you like.

Might be ok to check the OD of your 26" tires to see if they are 26"?

I've been riding every evening after work till late, but will put stock tires with 10 psi on this evening to check clearance.

Ok, I'm back to shop, lifted , and twisted with bear hands preload nut from 4 to 7 1/2 lines and there it started to get tighter so I decided to stop and not use wrench. Now I'm 10" ground to skid plate and 10.5" ground to the lower edge of frame. :)
So leveled with rear. Although I read for better handling rear shoukd be a bit higher. Will make sure when install rear shocks.
Left 6 psi.

Good.

I've decided to go back to 4 lines , since then small bumps non exist .
I don't bottom out on any rock, I think our spring on WE could be a bit higher rate then Honda , so softest preload the way to go. Half inch loss no big deal for me. I wish I would weld 5 more inside, but that's still very very ok :))

Sorry for the poor quality pictures
Stock tires 10lbs pressure
i drove forward / backwards a few feet to settle
20161116 192758 1 20161116 193053
Tape doesn't look perpendicular but its the clearest picture i took...
8 1/4" to bottom of 3/8" skidplate
I never used a level but stock tire are 23 1/4" as mounted on P5 with weight on them
this with WE shocks ...3/8" above preload nut

So.. I've been told that any competitent Shock rebuilder should be able to shorten the the shock. My buddy said he routinely adjusts his shocks lengths for different types of snowmobile racing by 0.5" to 1.5". Something about spacers placed inside the shock when rebuilding. Has someone tried this?

I might try to lower WE spring to 200 lbs and they come only in 10" I think, so WE supplies with spacer.

Anyway, I'm back from hunting trip and boy , now I can race on this machine, and dont worry about concussion from riding over bumps.

i have 10.5 to the bottom of front bash plate
did you get that with taller tires and or the shock modification. i have a 2016 p5 i want more ground clearance and less or no bottoming out when leveling out off a steep decent on the front end. another question why did moving the lower shock mount down allow the use of the rhino type shocks i believe you stated that the suspension does not allow the shock to extend to its max length. could you accomplish the same thing with a heavier spring on the stock shock. i have been looking but have not found any yet. how do you get the spec on the oem spring.

the stock shocks are horrible the progressives are an inch longer and much better quality so moving the lower mount to a still very safe distance allows for longer shocks and im running 26 inch ripsaws

Jak using progressive 425 rhino shocks spring rate 110/160 lbs (correct me if I'm wrong), Chris and I have Walker Evans rhino shocks which are 250lbs springs. No way I could bottom out on lowest settings, the height could be adjusted , I think I will reweld later if I need more clearance , I'm fine with 9.5" now. But if anyone will extend a arm all the way down , it might give an inch clearance or more.

I looked over other brands and polaris 570 rzr almost identical by gross weight to P500, the aftermarket shock srping rates are a bit less then Rhino, but the shock length a bit longer. But front shocks 160 and rear 200 lbs.

Thant makes me think more and more that WE with front 250 lbs are for extreme racing with jumping and etc. So I'm gonna try lower rate springs 200lbs, not sure how much it will affect height , I might re weld again. Just trying to perfect WE mod. Who ever choose to put Rhino progressive 425 front will be good from the start since spring rate is lower 110/160 lbs.
