Picked up my new p520 last Friday the 11th. I'm excited. Installed new 28×10 swamp lites front and 29.5×10 swamp lites on back from 2016 p500 . Let the mods begin !
Different diameter tires front and rear? Curious as to why. Only running in 2wd?

They were the only ones available at the time but ideally 28×10 on 4 equal width rims is best. This setup works well because 28×10 inch front tires round out more on narrow stock rims than 29.5×10 back pair on the wider stock rims . In addition 5psi in the front vs 3.5psi in the rears make the front tires larger and provides better handling and better traction from the rear tires . It shifts smoothly from 2×4 to 4×4 and out again at speed . Minimum drive line binding.

Just wondering about transmission stress in 4wd with different diameters F/R.

Would LOVE to be able to lock/unlock the front diff. The Torq Locker seems nice for those who just ride recreationally, but I plan on using whatever P5xx I get for yard work as well and would prefer not to shred my lawn.
The Torq Locker makes no difference in 2wd mode, and the rear wheels will shred your lawn anyways- rear drive is locked- no ability to unlock.

If Honda finds out.Factory Warrantee is already over.
Agree with above statement give it some time & you will have problems in drive train.

Almost 1000 miles of stupid abuse with the Torq locker with no issues whatsoever, and the differential has been disassembled and inspected 3 times so far with no visible, measurable, or appreciable wear to any drive train component. What kind of problems would you expect to see using an auto locker?

Cattleman500, give us a trail report on those Swamplites. The deeper tread on those sizes looks aggressive. Your obviously paying strict attention to air pressures. I had to on a machine that I had 25x10's radials on factory 6" and 7.5". I ran rears softer(shorter) eventually because the hooked up harder. Dialed in they worked great. We're in 2WD on hard surfaces. Thanks

I run those Swamplites on my Rubicon and they are great. Especially in reverse. They are great in loose soil and mud, suck really bad in any sort of rocks.

Honda will be and has been testing the Polaris models for a few years. The low range trans will make the 520 engine a great upgrade especially with a front locker. I kept my wheel spacers and I know how to install 30's on the Pioneer 500 for more top speed and ground clearance. We can only hope the 520 happens this year. I would much rather have a big 750cc engine with 60 hp. When I had Polaris I needed 3 of them so I would always have something to ride and I couldn't go riding alone. The guys were pissed when I bought Polaris and it really made their day when they got to tow me back.
I know your post was from a while ago. How do you fit the 30’s on ? I have 30” mud zilla on my p500 and wondering if I’ll still be able to run them if I upgrade to the 520. Thanks in advance
