My brother got this nice WNY whitetail on opening day. The P500 made the recovery easy. The overhead gun racks worked nicely too. Only negative so far is that there is a engine cover with a hollow area in front of the rack that seems to collect water and critter fluid.

Congrats on the successful hunt, and thanks for sharing the pics. The P500 certainly has it's niche with the narrow width and flat rear rack. I know for hunting I would definitely take my storage box off in order to retrieve big game like this. Also that's a nice buck!.

Get rubber mat from a farm supply store. It keeps the critter juice from going everywhere and your buddies won't complain if they ride back there for a few miles.

I purchased the OEM cargo tray to alleviate the blood/dust problems, but still have a large hauling area. While it's not perfect, it has performed better than I originally expected. I have seen many innovative cargo designs on this forum, and appreciate craftsmanship in any form, but my father always said simplicity had merit. Ha! If you are looking for a quick fix, I would suggest the tray. I think it took me about 30 minutes to install, and it can be removed quickly if not needed.

scottn57,
Can't wait for a picture of my ride with a nice critter on the back! Would you mind telling me how you like that windshield you have? I am thinking of that one for my rig?

So far I like it a lot. It seems real solid. I haven't had much warm weather to test it out, but it seems to allow a decent amount of air flow with the vents open.

The top isn't flush with the Honda hard roof. It flips up nice at the top... I'm going to cut some foam to seal against the roof for cold weather riding as it allows air movement overhead... I think it will work quite nice in the summer.

Thank you! I don't really do too much warm weather riding. Mostly cool or cold. Even in the summer, we camp at 9000 ft so it can get cool if a monsoon lows thru. It will stay in my top two I think.
