I previously used a tent but have moved on to a Hammock - but as @JTW and @Kilo427 mention there is quite a difference between hammocks... Some people have used the Honda Hotel - building a board that extends out the back to allow them a sleeping platform in the bed.
I also use some large dry bags from my canoeing days to keep my sleeping bag, tent, clothes in to prevent the elements as much as possible from getting in.

I found it more enjoyable if I still look as taking the Honda through a backpacking/canoe camping lens - because you are motoring in - does not mean you can carry it all nor does it make sense.

Is that a DYI set up that you are referring to or a product available by order?

Monte.. it was @joeymt33 idea.. but this is my take on the Honda hotel. Throw a tarp over the Honda and roll out your bedding. Board skids in and out.

At that point.. Why not just use a tent?
Because it's off the ground away from moisture and critters and maybe a Gnome or two. It'd become Sasquish for Sasquatch though. Better bring a mobile Ewok tree village instead..But then again, wouldn't Squatches eat Ewoks?

Easier than a tent to find your way out when ya gotta piss real bad!
Designated Nalgene bottle. Learned that trick while living on the bathroom floor for 7 months...Don't ask...

How long is that

Sent from my SM-G930U using Tapatalk

I’ll have to measure it again but I think it was 74 inches from the back of the bed to the end of the board.

If a tall person needed it to be longer you could put a 1 foot extension on the end with the piano hinge and flip it out.

It makes a great picnic table is well when just riding for the day

@100Acre would need a foot and a half, HA! Does it make a lot of noise hammering down the trails? Had a small short chain in the back for a while, it made a lot of racket, it drowned my wife out, the chain just made a loud whack, the wife, RICKEY,RICKEY, RICKEY! Think I like the chain better!
