I’ll have to measure it again but I think it was 74 inches from the back of the bed to the end of the board.

If a tall person needed it to be longer you could put a 1 foot extension on the end with the piano hinge and flip it out.

It makes a great picnic table is well when just riding for the day
Thats what I was thinking after seeing it .Maybe all aluminum tubing

Might be rough if you forgot your pad! All depends on the spacing of the bars.

Hey, I didn’t know that there was aluminum expanded metal!! That’s cool, just what I need for the receiver hitch basket I want to build for the back of my tear drop trailer.

Monte.. it was @joeymt33 idea.. but this is my take on the Honda hotel. Throw a tarp over the Honda and roll out your bedding. Board skids in and out. View attachment 82661View attachment 82662View attachment 82663View attachment 82664
The more i look at this the more i like it. I hate the idea of having to unload everything....but im not paying 200+ for a hammock i may use once a year...not only that i question how comfortable i could sleep with the neck and back problens i have.

Well, I can’t fault you there.. but the blackbird is comfy. You can use my Honda hotel board if you like.

That’s the point right there Glock. I have bulging disks and a plate in my neck and I have to have proper support. Hammocks are a great idea if you don’t have any back issues.

That’s slightly inconvenient but you’re probably getting most of the stuff out anyway when setting up camp. Now most of your junk is in the door storage anyway!

It does stink when all your buddies have camp setup and then go for a night ride. They all come back with a bed ready made, the Honda hotel still has to be thrown together. My goal was to reduce items taking up space in the bed and always have a flat surface to sleep on. It’s worked pretty good.

Buuuutt, then there’s the goobers like JTW that will steal your keys and take you for a ride while your sleeping in the back. Just hide your keys!

I like a lot of room. I looked at smaller units that would have been more convenient, but I don't like stretching my arms when I yawn and touching both walls. Still have to fab a reliable hitch to make it happen. But looking like my wagon train will be at least 65ft long when it's completed. The learning curve going down the road is gonna be a mother.
