Finally able to find some time to put the rear shocks on Pockets tonight. Not to excited about how I mounted the remote reservoirs, I couldn't make the brackets I bought work. Nothing in the shop to fab anything. Will figure out something else later. Tomorrow we ride at dawn!

I reversed the top shock reservoir fittings and mounted the reservoir inside of the frame rail for fear of ripping the tubing off with debris inside of the fender well.

Yes I will do something like that. Not happy with the short length of braided line. How many threads do you have
showing? I'm at 1 1/4 " rt now.

Don't go by that, look up stock clearance, load up all the usual stuff you haul and set spring sag.

Yeah, that makes sense. Will definitely have to crank them down some more. I am always riding heavy. I'll just take it easy tomorrow till I can adjust them correctly.

Like Smitty said, I mounted mine so that the hose came out on the inside of the frame, and mounted the reservoir on top of the frame member. I'm using the supplied hose clamps for now but I will probably find a different mount for them. I also used a thin piece of double-sided sticky foam pad between the reservoir and the frame so that they wouldn't rub if there is any movement, and it also added a little clearance so the selector knob can turn.

Tonight when I adjusted the ride height this is what I end up doing on the driver side. On the passenger side I clamped it on the vertical frame rail. It will do for now. Could have used a little longer line but you get what you get. Ended up at 10" ground clearance with nothing in the bed. So should be fine with all the stuff I usually carry. With these shocks Pockets is a totally different ride.

Would like to follow up on the Walker Evans Shocks. I ride in some of the ruffest country there is. Going from stock Shocks to WE's is just wow ! In some places with the oem ones you would have to slow way down and still get jostled and pitched all over the cab. After a day's riding with oem you would be worn out from getting bucked, jiggled and joggled. Not anymore! I am amazed at the difference. I have mine set at the softest setting so there was a little more pitch and role and I am probably a little more top heavy than most. But with the 26" SunF tires I only bottomed out (on big arse rocks) a few times instead of a dozen or so. From camp the distance to a few of or deer stands are over a mile ride. These WE shocks allow me to get there quicker and comfortably. If you saw my posts in Shots from the trail thread, we were headed down to the river about 5 miles one way. It use to be like riding in a duce and a half, now I'm cruising in a Cadillac.

Ready to put on the EZ steer , but decided to change the oil and coolant first. Then when I looked under Pockets at the skid plates I said... rut-roh ! So Pockets has another box on the way. Crazy amount of sticks and cactus crammed in-between the skid and engine. Only had one bolt snap off. Fun times.

Was able to get the Ez steer on this morning. Had to bang on the mounting plate where the wing nut is to move it over a quarter inch to the right so the lower shaft would clear the brake reservoir. Now on to the skids.

Got all the SSS skids on. Ended up having to drill two bolts out. Pain in the arse but they are super nice skids and they give you some extra bolts and washers that helped me out. Backed out of the shop and drove around the neighborhood to test out the EzSteer power steering. Coupled with the WE Shocks, I'm going to be cruzin on all the rocky ranch roads like a 1970 Cadillac Eldorado !

Heading to the ranch next week for spring break. All my nieces and nephew (6) will be there. So I put a rumble seat in the back for them. Took everything out of the bed. Crazy amount of stuff I was carrying around.
