Anyone installing the plug-in for the winch remote somewhere in the grill area of the Pioneer?

My dealer said they typically put the plug (hole) in the lower center of the dash, and don't install a rocker type switch, at all.

I watched some guy installing a winch on YouTube and he installed the rocker in the dash and the plug at through the grill.

HOW IS YOURS INSTALLED? - Also, pros/cons of each.

Pictures of your plug location (esp if in the grill) would be appreciated.

I like the idea of standing outside the Pioneer watching the spool while I winch, but my dealer said, that gets the plug, itself, filled w/ MUD and he discourages it.

Put my remote on the bumper and switch below the headlight switch. Also added a switch on the dash keep power off the winch controls unless flipped - kids pushing buttons lol.

So far so good!
If I did do remote location I like Snuffs spot but I'd keep it somewhere close to that area at least.

For those of us that use a plow, the rocker is a must, I went center of dash. I placed my remote location in firewall, down by cig lighter in P5. Some guys were putting it under the drivers side cup holder but what if your machine is laying on that side? Even if you put it in the grille, I would go close to center. Just my 2...;)

I use my remote as my rocker by adding the plug on my switch panel. I didn't use the rocker switch at all. I also have the wireless remote like mentioned above to add.

Rocker is just left of the steering wheel and wireless. Rocker only works when ignition is on and wireless works whenever. Winch is wired to 2nd battery.

I put my winch remote plug under the dash next to my 12v accessory plug. This way my boys cant activate the winch by accident. I keep the remote in the factory under dash storage
