We just took our maiden voyage in the Black Hills on Sunday with the new machine and what a blast! Did some trail riding along with some rock crawling. Trails were a bit wet and muddy, but no water holes or mud pits. Burnt a little less than 3/8's of a tank of gas. Got Ronda (family decided to name the P1K5) home and gave her a bath before I garaged her. Took her out yesterday to ride the dogs around the sunflower fields by the house and the fuel tank is now reading full. Rode for an hour and it still reads full. I also noticed that while driving, the portion of the digital gauge where you can see 4X4 and locked, now keeps flashing from locked to not locked. Thinking water may have gotten to connectors. I am in warranty seeing as I have only had it about 2-3 weeks. Has anyone else experienced this? 2018 P1K5-D

Welcome glad you’re enjoying the new machine.

I would look at the adjustments of the drive selector cables under the left rear passenger floorboard. The “flux capacitor” is below.

U probably got water in your tank from washing. I thought they had that problem fixed on the 2018s. I have a 2018 and washed it several times and never had a issue but I ended up extending my vent lines so I wouldn't have to worry about it any more.

Thanks for the reply. Water in the tank? I am not a professional but should water in tank affect more than just the the fuel level sensor? I got water in the tank of my 4 wheeler through a cracked sight gauge and the engine would just bogged down until I removed the tank and carburetor, cleaned everything out and supplied fresh fuel. Would the pioneer not have a similar reaction to water in the fuel system?

If it does have water in tank your gonna have more problems. I'm not sure of the best way to tell if u do have water in tank. Maybe someone else will chime in.

Water in the tank would sink to the bottom and it would start running bad fairly quickly, especially if you had about 3/8ths of a tank of water. Could be connections.

That is what I am leaning towards. Rode the dogs around for an hour straight yesterday and no engine problems. Gauge just says it is full, looked in the tank with a flash light and it's maybe less than half a tank.

Got it fixed. Took the seat off and removed the rubber. Then I took the pressure washer (probably how I got here in the first place) and sprayed off everything using the wide fan, lowest pressure tip. Used the air compressor blew everything off. I removed the connector off the tank, blew it out real good. Started "Ronda" and let her run until shed died. Plugged the connector back in and smacked the tank twice with the handle of the screw driver. Turned the key back on and the gauge works! Now for the locker. Thanks @ohanacreek for the adjustment information. It needed a tiny adjustment and now does not flash off/on while going down a flat road.
