I will be doing some temp testing today on the p1000-5 stock vs pv3 dynojet tune. I will run the same distance, park, and let idle. Probably check 3 different points. Hopefully there is a difference. If not enough improvement, will probably do a Hess or Florida white person tune... LOL... I will post findings this evening. Any tips post them up...

So I messed this up already.. 🤦🏼‍♂️... it definitely is cooler! But, I only waited an hour to test the dynojet, so all the fluids were warmer going into it. I had to do a clutch relearn when I cranked it up after flashing the tune, so that ran the temps up too. So I’m going to wait till this evening and do the test from cold, exactly how I did it stock. But it’s definitely promising!

I kept the rpm at 4000 the whole time...Running about 12 mph half the time, and 20 the other. it’s about a 1 mile loop.

The seat heat one is really messed up. 12 minutes after I turned it off, it’s at 100 degrees... So I’m confident it will be less. Also tonight, I am going to get it real hot... Then check temps. Drive it a long time...

The seat and around it holds a lot of heat... I just checked it again and it was 76 degrees. After 2.5 hrs...

Well I put the stock tune back in, and drove it harder. The radiator temp was 206 on stock tune, and 156 on dynojet tune. The seat heat was 120 on the stock vs 80 on the dynojet!!! So... I’m going with its cooler... final answer

And... This testing didn’t make much sense to me... In the end I learned that driving in low and 4wd In a muddy field gets it hotter than driving at 4000 rpm in low on the road... So my testing is flawed. But I drove the piss out of it and got somewhat the results I was looking for. Now... What do I need to get a tune from the Florida white boy? A windows based computer? I have Apple everything... @aauman88

Anything you can receive an email on and transfer to the PV3. You just drag and drop it

What are the details on your machine? Besides heat what do you want to get out of a tune?

Really other than heat reduction, no clutch slip/better clutch lock up. Oh and all stock for now... Plan on 28s soon, so I will get the tune then.

I’m looking to get mine to run cooler. Now that you’ve had it a while do you still think it makes a big difference in temperature?

In my experience, these tunes DO reduce under seat temps BUT with the fan running more, there is more heat being pulled toward the “firewall” which increases the amount of heat coming through the dash and that stupid hole for the brake pedal linkage to run through. I used to not notice so much heat coming through that hole but ever since I flashed it, the heat being pushed through is crazy. I’ll be working on a sano way to cover this up. The clutches will lock up sooner resulting in less slipping and the 6sp reverse is fairly handy.

. . . and the 6sp reverse is fairly handy.

6 Speed Reverse?! I'm interested. I was backing down a hill and had to use the brakes the whole way. Does the Pv3 tune affect engine braking in reverse?

It does not, well at least mine doesn't (I don't have a tune from any of the known tuners). It just allows you to manually shift while in reverse.
