Hi,

Replaced OEM battery Yuasa ytx14-bs on my 2016 700-2 with the Yuasa ytx14h-bs and now my 700 will not start. Old battery was starting to struggle on starts and was 4yrs old so I decide to replace but with the added cold cranking amps of the "h" battery. First time I cranked it over it made a slight pop sound and volt meter read 12.5. Now volt meter will not even display anything. Charged old battery back up and it will not not even turn over and volt meter still will not display anything. My voltage tester is reading over 14 on both batteries but 700 will not even turn over now. So far, all my fuses are good. Charged the new battery per Yuasa specs but something definitely did not like the new battery.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Mike

Thanks for the quick replies. After checking the 40amp fuse and making sure the battery was fully charged I found out that I'm just a dumbass. Had the 700 still in reverse and not neutral. :D Put in neutral and started right up! SMH!!

Well at least you didn’t tear it apart to see if the neutral safety switch was bad.

Thanks for the updated repair/solution information. I’ll guarantee it will help someone else in the future.
