I use my 500 for hunting up in Alaska. I have the factory roof installed. I noticed the last time while in the rain, we spend a lot of time it seems in the rain, all the rain runs down the roof and ends up on your arm and eventually ends up in the cab. I was thinking about adding a strip of rubber or plastic to extend the roof edge a bit. I was wondering if anyone else had the same issue or had a solution to my problem. Thanks

Windshield ? Or you can buy hmf plastic cut to order on line , comes in black or white .
I have made spoilers and rock sliders out of it for my rzr . You could make a visor that extends your roof forward as far as you want it .

It does have a windshield, the problem is it drips down from the roof above the door area, hands on my shoulder and arm, passenger too, I have heard some roofs have a rain gutter all the way around. I’m sure I’m not the only one to find this annoying. Has to be a easy solution. My problem is I’m in Wisconsin and the 500 is in Alaska so I can’t have eyes on it to come up with a fix. I want to have a plan to fix, I have a couple of days before the hunt begins. Any ideas would be appreciated

Also the plastic you can get cut to order is easy to bend and mold to your liking with an inexpensive heat gun .

Thanks, That might work, I was also thinking about taking a 3/4 inch heater hose and cutting a section out length wise to create a gutter and then maybe riveting it to the roof edge to form a gutter. Sounds like a lot of work, might be hard to keep the cut out straight on a rubber hose.

I drilled holes in the front lip of the roof. That makes most of the water run down the windshield. I also put gorilla tape 3/4 of the way up on the side of the windshield because it was dripping in my knee.

I really don’t have any issues with the rain and the windshield, anyways I don’t think I do. My main issue is getting wet from the rain running off the roof and hitting my shoulder and arm in the door area. I think I’ll just make some kind of flap, to extend the roof line out a little further, making the rain land further out. Don’t really want to do this because we go thru some tight brushy areas and I’m sure it will make more noise.

Mudder, I had exactly the same problem with the factory roof: I just installed 2-1/2" Flexy Flare along the side edges. It hangs out just enough to move the drip outside the door and it looks factory. I attached it to the roof with plastic push-in body clips and caulked along the top edge.

I ordered mine online from Low Range Off-Road: I bought 7' which was plenty for both sides. Make sure you order this sku # as they have 2 different syles with different mounting options.
