RotoPax, Are they Worth it?

I bought my 7.5 L Rotopax years ago when you could still get them in green. I lamented the high price... about $60 I think. I wish I'd bought a bunch of them. I've carried this thing for years on various machines. It's been beaten and abused. Never leaked and has got me out of afew jams. I'm not a fan of carrying alot of extra weight so the little Rotopax is fine with me!

Got this off Amazon for close to half of a roto. The can seems well built and heavy. The mount is a lot like the other but all plastic.

We've had these for years and they work great.. used them for atvs and I just fixed up a strap to the tailgate for he PK5... my thought was to attach between my tool box and the rops on the p5.

Mine's probably 6 or 7 yrs old and never developed a leak anywhere. It's been strapped to the front of an ATV and carried in the back of my SxS... No issues. I would buy again

If you're a buy it and bolt it on guy then that's a good setup. Depends on your needs though, not enough covered storage for me. Don't like how it sticks out the back either. If I were building another one I would go more for what @Chooglin did.

Well it looks like I was right and I'm over in cost for my jerry can setup than the cost of a rotopax. I need to stop making purchasing decisions when its late and I'm tired and not thinking wisely. Damned impatient sometimes!

His is all box, angled down and spare tire mounted on the top. Wouldn't be good for what you're trying to achieve. Would have been perfect for me though, has the look and plenty of covered storage. Looks like there is enough room in it for a subwoofer too.

Don't feel bad, been there and done that, as I'm sure a lot of us on here have. At least it wasn't too much money, I've spent hundreds on stuff that in hind sight I should have slowed down and thought through.

If you're carrying a lot of gear, I think you'll have to put your buddy in the passenger seat. Probably safer that way anyhow.
